The November 2023 farewell sale of Robyn Cosgrove Rugs marks the end of an era in Australian interior design. Robyn Cosgrove’s handwoven rugs have been a fixture in Australia’s best houses and dominated leading lifestyle magazines for 45 years.

Eclectic, contemporary, romantic—they represent the pinnacle of craftsmanship and are unsurpassed for their quality and attention to detail. 

Cosgrove’s landmark Woollahra showroom - where the biggest names in design and architecture shopped, has now closed. 

The doyenne of Australian decorative rugs, is philosophical when asked why she is saying farewell and shutting up shop. “Next year I will be 80. My husband died in May. You scan the horizon, the world is changing.”  

“Am I sad? Yes, of course. Rugs have been my life. However, I am pragmatic, and would much rather these beautiful rugs have lives. They were made to be seen, used and enjoyed”. 

While the Cosgrove-owned showroom will remain and be leased out, 2024 will be a new season for RCR - where I will bring fresh energy to the business.  I am  currently working on a new, more modern elevated brand and customer experience - the way I always envisioned.

The website will stay in operation, while I rebrand, so that I can come back to you with a completely new direction. The hiatus won’t be permanent. Thank you so much for being on this journey with me - I promise I won’t be gone forever.
